Deoxyarbutin (DA), a synthetic form of arbutin synthesized without the hydroxyl moiety, provides a promising treatment forreducing skin hyperpigmentation.
Deoxyarbutin, a compound new skin lightening ingredient, can effectively inhibit tyrosinase activity and melanin synthesis to get significant and lasting lightening effects. It is safer, more stable, less cytotoxic, less irritating to skin and better absorbed.
For skin lightening effect, deoxyarbutin is 350 times more effective than arbutin, 150 times more effective than kojic acid, 10 times more effective
It is very delicate material which is easily oxidized. In order to prevent the oxidation of deoxyarbutin and keep the formula effective, the use of antioxidant agent is highly recommended Anti-oxidant : Sodium metabisulfite(0.01-1.0 %).
Deoxyarbutin is a skin-lightening agent that is derived from arbutin. Its function is to inhibit the production of melanin in the skin, which helps to reduce the appearance of dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone.
Deoxyarbutin is commonly used in skincare products, such as creams, lotions, and serums, to address issues like age spots, sun damage, and melasma. It is also used in some cosmetic products, including whitening creams and soaps.
One of the advantages of deoxyarbutin over arbutin is that it is more stable and less prone to degradation, making it a preferred choice for many skin care formulations.
