Purslane extract is a substance extracted from the dried whole plant of Portulacaoleracea L., a plant of the family Portulaca oleracea. Purslane, sour in taste, cold in nature, enters the large intestine, liver and spleen meridians. Purslane is a 1-year-old succulent herb, distributed in most parts of the country, growing in fields, barren land and roadsides. The whole plant is smooth and hairless, 20-30cm high. Cylindrical stems prostrate or oblique upward diverging from the base, often light brown or purple on the sunny side; alternate or opposite leaves, thick and fleshy leaves, obovate or spoon-shaped, 1-3cm long, 5-14mm wide, upper leaf surface Dark red, dark red on the lower leaves; yellow and small flowers, with 5 obcordate petals, usually 3 to 5 clustered branches in the axils of the top leaves; brown capsules are short conical, split cover. The dry whole plant is preferably small, tender, with many leaves and green. Contains norepinephrine, potassium salt, dihydroxyphenylacetic acid, dihydroxyphenylalanine, malic acid, citric acid, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, glucose, fructose, etc. It also contains α-linolenic acid, linolenic acid, linoleic acid and palmitic acid. It also contains flavonoids, terpenes, etc.
1. The ethanol extract of purslane has significant inhibitory effect on Shigella and paracheirobacter flexneri. The decoction can inhibit Shigella, Songnei, Stuart and Shigella fischeri. Purslane alcohol extract and water decoction can also inhibit Escherichia coli, Proteus, Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It also has inhibitory effect on pathogenic fungi such as Microsporum microsporum.
2. The water extract of purslane stem and leaf can contract the rabbit aorta in a dose-dependent manner, and at the same time weaken the myocardial contractility.
3. Purslane fresh juice and boiling water extract can increase the tension of isolated guinea pig ileum, enhance the amplitude, and speed up the frequency. The effect is similar to that of acetylcholine (Ach) in a dose-dependent manner, and can be slightly blocked by atropine.
4. Purslane fresh juice and boiling water extract have a dose-dependent acetylcholine-like effect on isolated guinea pig ileum, which is similar to the effect of prostaglandin E on intestinal smooth muscle, increasing contraction tension, amplitude and frequency.
